Isabelle Busby

ISABELLE BUSBY practices labour, human rights, professional regulatory and employment law. She is passionate about supporting movements for substantive equality and structure-based organizing.

Prior to joining Black Burke Mayor LLP, Isabelle practiced Aboriginal law at a Vancouver-based firm and worked as an advocate in the public labour relations sector. Isabelle completed her articles with West Coast LEAF, where she gained experience in public interest law, constitutional law, family law, and law reform research and advocacy. Isabelle has appeared before the Provincial Court of British Columbia and supported litigation at the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Federal Court of Canada, and various administrative tribunals.

Isabelle completed her law degree at the University of Victoria, and she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of British Columbia. During her time in law school, Isabelle completed co-op placements focused on litigation, legal research and education, and public policy analysis. As a student, Isabelle worked and volunteered in local elections, sustainability groups, and political education programs for youth.

Isabelle is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers (CALL). She is available to assist clients in English and French.
