She/her

ZOSIA HORTSING joined Black Burke Mayor LLP after having previously worked representing employees and unions at another Vancouver-based labour law firm. Her practice areas include labour, human rights, professional regulatory and employment law. She is passionate about fighting discrimination in the workplace, and greatly values the opportunity to work with employees and unions to defend their rights.

During her time at Osgoode Hall Law School, Zosia completed two full-time placements as a caseworker in a Toronto legal aid clinic where she assisted clients with their immigration matters. In 2015, she participated in a successful unionizing drive at the clinic that led to the certification of its first-ever student bargaining unit. Zosia also participated in the law school’s inaugural Feminist Advocacy Partnership with the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic, providing legal assistance to women who have survived violence.

Prior to law school, Zosia worked for several years as a public servant, gaining experience in a range of policy areas including immigration, labour market development, and international trade.

Zosia is a member of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers (CALL) and the Canadian Bar Association. She is pleased to assist clients in English and French.
